1பரம்உனக்கு எனக்குவேறு பயம்இலை பரா பரா!
2கரம்எடுத்து நிற்றலும் குவித்திடக் கடவதும்
3சிரம்உருகி அமுதளித்த சீருலாவு நாதனே;
4உரம்எனக்கு நீ அளித்த ஓம்நமசி வாயவே!

ஆழ்ந்த கருத்துரை

முழுமுதற் பரம்பொருளுக்கும் தன் ஆன்மாவிற்கும் இடையே எவ்வித பேதமும் இல்லை என்ற அபேத அத்வைத உண்மையை உணர்ந்தவனுக்குப் பிறவித் துயரமோ எம பயமோ துளியும் இல்லை. வெறும் கைகூப்பித் தொழும் புற வழிபாட்டு சடங்குகளுக்கு அப்பால், மூலாதாரக் கனல் மூண்டு கபால உச்சி உருகும்போது சஹஸ்ராரத்திலிருந்து பொழியும் அமிர்தப் பெருக்கை நல்கியவனே அகத்து நாதன் ஆவான். ஆன்ம ஞானத்திற்கு வஜ்ஜிரம் போன்ற ஆன்ம பலத்தையும் (உரம்) மரணமில்லாப் பெருவாழ்வையும் தருவது உள்ளுக்குள் இடையறாது ஒலிக்கும் 'ஓம் நமசிவாய' என்ற தாரகப் பிரணவமே எனச் சித்தர் இன்பப் பரவசத்துடன் முழங்குகிறார்.

The address grows close. Between the supreme and the singer there is no separate fear, and the cry is Para, Para. Raised hands and joined palms are named as what is owed, then the Lord is the one who melted the head and gave nectar while moving in splendor. The strength that was given is not a mood. It is Om Namasivaya.

The teaching

A sublime expression of non-dual devotion and Siddha cranial alchemy. Between the Supreme Absolute (பரம்) and the seeker's awakened consciousness, there exists no real separation; once this non-duality is understood, all existential terror and worldly fear evaporate (பயம் இலை). Raising hands in outward supplication or joining palms in mechanical temple worship are merely superficial religious gestures. The true, internal spiritual transformation occurs when the radiant Lord of Splendor (சீருலாவு நாதன்) melts the cranial vault (சிரம் உருகி) at the Sahasrara, showering the seeker's nervous system with the ambrosial nectar of immortality (அமுது). The impenetrable fortress and supreme spiritual vigor (உரம்) bestowed upon the mystic is the primal, resonant vibration of Om Namasivaya pulsating through the awakened Sushumna.

Verse 106

1பச்சைமண் பதுப்பிலே பழுப்பதிந்த வேட்டுவன்
2நிச்சலும் நினைந்திட நினைத்தவண்ணம் ஆயிடும்;
3பச்சைமண் இடிந்துபோய் பறந்ததும்பி ஆயிடும்
4பிச்சர்காள் அறிந்துகொள்க பிரான்இயற்று கோலமே.

ஆழ்ந்த கருத்துரை

குளவியானது (வேட்டுவன்) பச்சைக் கூட்டுக்குள் புழுவை அடைத்துத் தன் ரீங்காரத்தினால் சதா தியானிக்கச் செய்ய, அந்தப் புழுவும் பயத்தோடு கூடிய ஏகாக்ர சிந்தனையால் குளவியையே இடைவிடாது நினைந்து முடிவில் தன் பழைய புழுவடிவம் அழிந்து தானும் சிறகு முளைத்த தும்பியாகப் பறந்துவிடுகிறது (கீட-பிருங்க நியாயம்). மாயைப் பச்சைக் கூண்டாகிய இந்த மாமிச உடலுக்குள் கட்டுண்டு கிடக்கும் மனித ஆன்மாவும், இடைவிடாது பரம்பொருளையே தியானித்துக் கலந்திருக்குமானால், இத்தேகக் கூண்டு உதிர்ந்து ஆன்மா பரசிவத்தோடு ஒன்றிச் சுதந்திரப் பேரின்பப் பெருவெளியில் சிறகடித்துப் பறக்கும். இந்த இறைவனின் மெய்ஞ்ஞான லீலையை அறியாது புறத்தே உழலும் உலகத்தவரைப் 'பிச்சர்காள்' என விளித்துச் சித்தர் உண்மையை உணர்த்துகிறார்.

A hunter sits in a hut of raw green clay, the tawny color settled in him. Think of him without a gap and the thought becomes the form. Then the same green clay collapses and turns into a beetle that has taken wing. The mad ones are told to recognize this as the guise the Lord himself puts on.

The teaching

The classic Siddha and Vedantic analogy of the wasp and the caterpillar (கீட-பிருங்க நியாயம் / Bhramara-Kita Nyaya). A predatory hunting-wasp (வேட்டுவன்) imprisons a caterpillar within a cell of damp green clay (பச்சைமண்); through constant, uninterrupted contemplation born of intense focus, the earth-bound worm undergoes a complete biological metamorphosis, taking on the winged form of the very insect it meditates upon, until the clay prison shatters and it takes flight as a beetle (தும்பி). Addressing worldly fools as madmen (பிச்சர்காள்), Sivavakkiyar reveals this parable as the mysterious transmutation wrought by the Divine. If the soul, currently trapped in a mortal frame of perishable red and green clay, fixes its awareness unceasingly upon the Supreme, the physical shell collapses, and consciousness takes flight as liberated, radiant Spirit.

1ஒளியதான காசிமீது வந்துதங்கு வோர்க்கெலாம்
2வெளியதான சோதிமேனி விஸ்வநாத னானவன்
3தெளியுமங்கை உடன்இருந்து செப்புகின்ற தாரகம்
4எளியதோர் இராமராம ராமமிர்த நாமமே.

ஆழ்ந்த கருத்துரை

புறத்தே ஓடும் கங்கைக் கரையிலுள்ள காசி நகரைத் தேடி ஓடாமல், இடை-பிங்கலை நாடிகள் இணையும் புருவமத்தியான ஆக்ஞா சக்கரமே உண்மையான ஞானக் காசியாகும் (ஒளியதான காசி). அங்கு பரவெளியாகிய விஸ்வநாதப் பரமசிவனும் அவர்தம் அருள்வடிவான பராசக்தியும் நீங்காது எழுந்தருளி ஆனந்தத் தாண்டவம் புரிகின்றனர். உலகப் பற்றுகளை நீக்கி அந்த ஆக்ஞா மண்டலத்தில் குண்டலினி சக்தியோடு ஒன்றி நிற்கும் யோகிக்கு, எமவாதனை தீர்க்கும் அமிர்த தாரக மந்திரமான 'இராம' நாமம் (அகத்தில் பிரகாசிக்கும் ஆத்ம ராம சோதி) மிக எளிதாகத் தன் பிராணனில் சுடர்விட்டு அமிர்தமாய் இனிக்கும் என்று சிவவாக்கியர் இயம்புகிறார்.

The song speaks to everyone who comes and stays on Kashi that is light. Visvanatha is named as the body of light that is open space, and the clear lady seated with him utters a saving word. That word is not a long rite. It is the easy nectar of the name Rama, Rama, Rama.

The teaching

The internalization of the sacred pilgrimage city of Kashi (Varanasi) into the landscape of yogic physiology. In the esoteric Siddha tradition, Kashi does not refer to a geographical city of stone temples by a muddy river, but to the luminous Ajna chakra located between the eyebrows, where the Ida (Varana) and Pingala (Asi) channels converge into the Sushumna. For the yogi who ascends to dwell in this inner holy center of light (ஒளியதான காசி), the Supreme Lord Visvanatha—whose very body is boundless space and transcendent radiance (வெளியதான சோதி)—seated in inseparable union with the awakened Mother Shakti (தெளியுமங்கை), whispers the ultimate liberating mantra (தாரக மந்திரம் / Taraka mantra) into the dying ego. That liberating nectar is not a complex, exhausting ritual, but the sweet, accessible vibration of the Rama mantra, signifying the radiant, indwelling light of the Self.

1விழியினோடு புனல்விளைந்த வில்லவல்லி யோனியும்
2வெளியிலே பிதற்றலாம் விளைவுநின்றது இல்லையே
3வெளிபரந்த தேசமும் வெளிக்குள்மூல வித்தையும்
4தெளியும் வல்லஞானிகள் தெளிந்திருத்தல் திண்ணமே.

காமப் பார்வைகளும், உடற் கலவியும், பிறப்புக்குக் காரணமான பெண்வயிற்று யோனி வழியும் அநித்தியமான உலகியல் மாயைச் சுழல்களே; இவற்றை மெய்யெனப் புறத்தே வாதாடும் மூடர்களின் தர்க்கக் கூச்சலால் ஆன்ம விளைவு எதுவும் விளையப்போவதில்லை. உண்மை ஞானிகள் இந்தச் சிற்றின்பப் பற்றுகளைத் தாண்டி, கபால உச்சியில் எல்லையற்றுப் பரந்து விரிந்திருக்கும் சிதம்பர மகா வெளியையும் (வெளிபரந்த தேசம்), அந்த வெளிக்குள் சுடர்விடும் மூல வாசி வித்தையையும் அகத்தவத்தால் உணர்வர். அத்தகைய சித்த புருஷர்கள் உலக மாயைகளுக்கு ஆட்படாமல் சலனமற்ற பேரமைதியில் சிவத்தோடு இரண்டறக் கலந்து தெளிந்திருப்பர் என்பது திண்ணம்.

Eye and stream have ripened together with the yoni the line calls Villavalli, a compressed name left as printed. Babble in the open is allowed, and the fruit is said not to stand there. What remains is the country spread in space and the root art inside space. Knowers who can become clear are told that their clarity will hold.

The teaching

Transcending gross biological reproduction and superficial sensory perception to attain the spatial void of supreme consciousness (சிதம்பர வெளி). Sivavakkiyar juxtaposes the wet, physical mechanics of carnal conception—the gaze of the eyes, the mingling of bodily fluids, and the generative feminine organ (யோனி)—with the vain philosophical babble of worldly scholars who argue in the open without tasting spiritual fruition. The true Siddha Jnani bypasses external sexuality and scholastic debate, turning inward to the vast spatial expanse of the Sahasrara (வெளிபரந்த தேசம்) and mastering the primordial root-science (வெளிக்குள் மூல வித்தை) of breath and consciousness. Those illumined masters who cultivate this pristine, non-dual clarity abide immovably in unshakeable spiritual stillness.

ஆழ்ந்த கருத்துரை

The same opening, Om Namasivaya, is said four times, and the first three lines stay almost still. Knowing the truth, growing clear in the truth, and knowing the truth again: the repetition is the work. Only the fourth line moves. The name stands mingled within.

The teaching

The progressive stages of yogic absorption and mantric transmutation through the Five Letters (Panchakshara / ஓம்நமசிவாய). Sivavakkiyar repeats the sacred mantra across four successive lines, illustrating the experiential ladder of mystical awakening: first, the intellectual recitation of the mantra transforms into direct, intuitive perception of Reality (உணர்ந்து மெய் உணர்ந்தபின்); this perception then deepens into a luminous spiritual clarity that effortlessly dissolves all karmic illusions and doubts (மெய் தெளிந்தபின்); and finally, the mantra ceases to be an external sonic practice and merges completely into the seeker's inner being (உட்கலந்து நிற்குமே). The chanter, the chanting, and the chanted Lord dissolve into an indivisible unity of pure consciousness.

1அல்லல்வாசல் ஒன்பதும் அருத்தடைந்த வாசலும்
2சொல்லும்வாசல் ஓர் ஐந்தும் சொம்மிவிம்மி நின்றதும்
3நல்லவாச லைத்திறந்து ஞானவாசல் ஊடுபோய்
4எல்லைவாசல் கண்டவர் இனிப்பிறப்பது இல்லையே.

மனித உடலானது பிறவித் துன்பங்களை அள்ளித் தரும் ஒன்பது புற வாசல்களாலும் (நவதுவாரங்கள்), உலகைப் பற்றும் ஐம்பொறிகளாலும் கட்டப்பட்டு அலைக்கழிகிறது. இந்த மாய வாசல்களின் வழியே பிராணன் சிதறிப் போவதைத் தடுத்து, மூலாதாரத்தில் உறங்கும் 'நல்வாசல்' ஆகிய சுழுமுனை நாடியைத் திறந்து, வாசியைக் கொண்டு புருவமத்தி மற்றும் கபால உச்சியிலுள்ள 'ஞான வாசல்' வழியாக ஆன்மாவை மேலேற்றி, அண்ட பகிரண்டங்களைக் கடந்து நிற்கும் சஹஸ்ரார 'எல்லை வாசலைத்' தரிசித்த மெய்ஞ்ஞானிகள், மீண்டும் இப்பூமியில் பிறவியெடுத்துப் பிறவித் துன்பத்தில் உழல்வதே இல்லை என்று உடற்கூறியல் யோக விடுதலையை இப்பாடல் சாற்றுகிறது.

The body is counted as doors. Nine gates of distress, a gate where meaning arrived, five gates that speak, and something that stood drooping and out of breath. The way through is to open the good gate, pass the gate of knowledge, and see the gate of the limit. Whoever has seen that last door is not born again.

The teaching

The esoteric architecture of the human body and the ascent through the portals of liberation. The physical organism is governed by nine turbulent gates (அல்லல் வாசல் ஒன்பது—the sensory and excretory orifices) that leak vital energy outward, embroiling the soul in worldly affliction, alongside the five organs of perception and expression. The yogic disciple must withdraw attention from these nine outer apertures and unlock the "good gate" (நல்வாசல்)—the dormant Sushumna channel at the base of the spine. Rising through the ascending centers of awareness, the yogi passes through the "gate of wisdom" (ஞான வாசல்—the Ajna chakra and the cranial aperture) to behold the ultimate cosmic portal (எல்லை வாசல்—the boundless Sahasrara / supreme boundary). Those who pass through this final threshold transcend mortality and will never again be trapped in the womb of rebirth.
