The running stops, and a practice is given. Breath draws inward in the channel that has taken form. If attention can settle that breath and raise it to the skull, the old become children and the body reddens. The verse leaves the result at a pair of feet: the feet of the lord who bears grace, and the feet of the Mother. Those feet, it says, are the truth one comes to when the breath has been lifted.
The teaching
Following his critique of futile outer pilgrimages, Sivavakkiyar reveals the esoteric path of internal yoga (வாசி யோகம் / Vasi Yoga). True spiritual attainment requires withdrawing the scattered prana from the peripheral channels (Ida and Pingala) into the central spinal channel (Sushumna) and, through focused mental intent, raising this fiery life-force up into the cranial vault (கபாலம் / Sahasrara). This internal yogic ascension initiates a total biological and spiritual alchemy: the aging physical form is rejuvenated, cellular vitality is restored, and the body takes on a luminous flush. At this zenith of inner consciousness, the seeker realizes the indivisible union of Shiva (the Father of Grace) and Shakti (the Divine Mother)—not as statues in an external shrine, but as the living, ecstatic ground of their own being.
