Roaming, just asserted of the inner wind, is now both the near and the far, and also what arose, followed, and stood. The five senses that wander are told they will sit in one place. There the moon turns into love, and nectar is drunk. The close is an order: mark our roaming Lord, know him, and bow.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar reveals the culmination of Vasi yoga, where the dual currents of breath represented by the mystical seed-letters 'A' and 'U' (Ida and Pingala) are gathered into the central channel. The chaotic, outward-wandering senses are harnessed and permanently anchored in a single inner station—the crown center. Here, in the mystic cranial realm, the cooling lunar disc (சந்திர மண்டலம்) radiates with love, showering the nectar of immortality (அமுதம்) upon the awakened soul. True adoration (கும்பிடு) is not a mechanical ritual performed before an external idol, but the luminous inward recognition of the vibrant, moving Divine who dances within the subtle body.

The worship just commanded is now a thought. That thought holds Guha, the hidden one, and the five inner instruments. Left and right are trusted and worked so a channel can be sought. Our Lord and the Mother are seated, and the middle one is named. Speech then goes like a bee that has finished the flower: it follows, slackens, and leaves.

The teaching

True worship takes place entirely within the subtle yogic physiology. Sivavakkiyar instructs the seeker to recognize the archetypal deities not as distant mythic figures, but as internal spiritual forces: Ganesha guarding the Muladhara and Guha illuminating the inner cave of consciousness. By methodically balancing the left and right breath channels (Ida and Pingala), the dormant central pathway (Sushumna) is unlocked. When the cosmic parents—Shiva and Shakti—are enthroned in union at the crown of the head, discursive speech and mental restless chatter slacken and fall away like an intoxicated bee bloated with divine nectar, plunging the mystic into the boundless quietude of Mouna.

Speech has left like a tired bee, and with it go the five senses and the harsh karma that had filled a life. Desire that is nothing but ego goes in the same list, and so do feet the packed wording makes hard to reach. From inside the syllable Om, nine fall away and one remains. Purity is standing resolved as the unsleeping Lord has said.

The teaching

Purity in Siddha philosophy is not an external bath in river water, but the total emancipation of consciousness from sensory tyranny, pride, and karmic momentum. Sivavakkiyar explains that by penetrating deep into the primordial vibration of Omkara, the yogi closes off the nine sensory gateways of the physical tenement, collapsing all multiplicity into the single, supreme ground of being. Here, the seeker aligns directly with the "unsleeping Lord"—the ever-vigilant witness consciousness that transcends waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. To stand resolute and unshakeable in this state of continuous non-dual awareness is the only genuine and spotless purity.

The questions turn toward a you. Was the cause that stood and saw the time the embryo was mixed, or did I come to know you when forms mingled? Hatred and hiding are asked what they are worth, once a person has consented to karma. The close drops the riddle: when the forms stood blended, you and I were one.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar interrogates the deep mystery of embodiment and spiritual awakening. The Supreme Consciousness was the hidden witness even at the first instant of biological conception in the womb, long before individual self-awareness arose. While human beings squander their lives in petty likes, dislikes, and attempts to conceal their failings behind the veil of karma, the ultimate truth shatters all separation. When the individual soul's form merges into the Divine form in non-dual realization, all duality evaporates. In that supreme blending, the seeker directly confronts the Advaitic reality: "Were You and I not always One?"

Yogis who hunted the books of knowledge and recited them are told they do not seek, inside, the flame that is knowledge. The claim that follows is short. Once the Lord who stands as knowledge is known, nothing remains beside knowledge. That, the singer says, is the truth he has spoken.

The teaching

With characteristic Siddha iconoclasm, Sivavakkiyar rebukes scholastic yogis who bury themselves in academic scriptures and endless recitations while remaining utterly blind to the radiant light of wisdom within their own bodies. True Jnana is not a collection of philosophical concepts or doctrinal texts; it is the living inner flame of transcendental awareness. When the seeker directly experiences the Lord whose very nature is pure Consciousness, all external categories and theoretical distinctions dissolve. Sivavakkiyar affirms with absolute certainty that beyond this self-luminous wisdom, nothing else exists in all the cosmos.

Three places are demanded, all of them before the usual story starts. Before conception, where did the body stand. Before form was taken up, where did the breath stand. In a mind packed with delusion, where did the confusion stand. Knowers who have understood desire are told to set the answer out at length.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar propounds three profound existential and metaphysical questions to puncture the arrogance of dogmatic theologians. He demands to know where the physical body existed prior to conception, where the vital breath was anchored before physical form crystallized, and where delusion itself resided before taking over the human mind. By pushing inquiry back to the unmanifest realm before birth and physical existence, the Siddha forces the seeker to realize that the mortal body and its psychological delusions are transient, emergent phantoms. Only the timeless, uncreated Consciousness exists prior to all manifestation.
