A root mantra is set inside the five letters that sprouted, and the four Vedas are set on the tongue, inside the true knowledge that was recited. The line then gathers the one whose throat drank the poison, together with Hari and Ayan. From that gathering the verse draws a hard conclusion. The mantra called the cry is nothing other than Sivayam.
The teaching
Sivavakkiyar establishes the Five Letters (Panchakshara) as the ultimate ontological source preceding all scripture and deity. The root vibration (மூல மந்திரம்) from which the cosmos emerged sprouted entirely within these five syllables. While orthodox brahmins take pride in verbally reciting the four Vedas, true wisdom (ஞான மெய்) awakens only when the five-lettered vibration is experienced as living truth. Even the cosmic trinity—Shiva who drank the Halahala poison, Vishnu, and Brahma—are merely functional manifestations of this primal resonance. Therefore, the soul's ultimate cry for grace and emancipation (ஓலம்) finds its absolute fulfillment nowhere else but in the living realization of Sivaya(ma).
