You are hailed as living beings who cannot tell a siddha from a small man. When the siddha stands here, you decide he is mad. The next question is compressed: with him present, will you still see a madman settled over the land? Then the two countries fold together. The father's land and this land are one for all of them. The name madman, and the border you would trust, do not outlast the person standing in front of you.
The teaching
Sivavakkiyar laments the profound lack of spiritual discernment in ordinary mortals (சீவர்காள்), who are utterly unable to distinguish an authentic, realized Siddha from a petty, superficial person. Because the enlightened Siddha rejects societal pretenses, caste divisions, and rigid orthodox ceremonies, conventional society invariably brands him a madman or lunatic (பித்தன்). Yet the Siddha remains wholly indifferent to the judgments and artificial boundaries of the mortal realm. Having dissolved the dualistic split between the transcendental kingdom of the Supreme Father (அத்தன் நாடு) and this physical world (இந்த நாடு), he experiences both as one indivisible, radiant continuum. While conditioned minds stay imprisoned within the narrow borders of social approval and sectarian dogmas, the Siddha moves in absolute freedom, recognizing the entire cosmos as the living sanctuary of the One.
