The question is how the master came into the true body. The likeness is water entering a tender young coconut on a red palm, quiet and without a wound. Once he has entered and taken that body as his temple, the verse closes his mouth. Among the people of the world he does not speak. The wonder is the entering. After it, there is nothing left to explain in the street.
The teaching
This celebrated verse is one of the crowning jewels of Siddha mysticism, capturing the silent, ineffable miracle of Self-realization. Sivavakkiyar poses the supreme question: In what manner does the Supreme Master (ஐயன்) enter and sanctify the inner temple of the body (மெய்யகம்)? He answers with an exquisite natural metaphor: exactly like sweet water entering the sealed kernel of a young green coconut atop a tall palm tree (செய்யதெங்கு இளங்குரும்பை நீர்புகுந்த வண்ணமே)—without a visible opening, without mechanical effort, without sound or violence, purely through the quiet mystery of divine grace. Once the Divine enters and consecrates the human body as His living temple, the realized sage enters the unbroken silence of Mouna (மவுனம்). Sivavakkiyar asks: Having tasted this transcendent reality, why would the enlightened mystic open his mouth to engage in trivial worldly chatter or sectarian arguments with the unawakened?
