Call and cry become a silence, and that silence takes over the doctrine of doctrines. In the three, three flames rise and spread. Fullness stands there the way honey stands in a flower, joined and sweet. Then life is said four times, and the verse grows tender. That life has reached the hearts of those who love. After so many subtleties, the arrival is in the lover's chest.

The teaching

In this exquisite, deeply moving verse, Sivavakkiyar seamlessly bridges the esoteric rigor of Vasi yoga with the tender warmth of pure devotion (அன்பு). When the inward and outward pranic sounds ('கூ' and 'கீ') dissolve into profound, wordless silence, the seeker grasps the supreme doctrine beyond all scriptures. As the three inner lights (sun, moon, and fire) harmonize and expand, the divine Fullness (பூரணம்) permeates the soul just as natural fragrance and sweet honey invisibly saturate a flower. This supreme life-force (ஆவி)—the very breath of the cosmos—is not an abstract philosophical concept; it finds its true, ecstatic dwelling place in the tender, receptive hearts of those who love with unreserved devotion.

Verse 343

  1. 1Aanmaiguurum maandharee arukkanodum viidhiyai
  2. 2Kaanmaiyaagak kaanpiiree kasadarukka valliiree
  3. 3Thuunmaiyaana vaadhisuutsam sopamaagum aagumee
  4. 4Naanmaiyaana vaayilil nadiththuninra naadhamee.

The talk of manhood from earlier is answered with a condition. O people who speak of it, there is a street that runs with the sun. If you can cut the dross away, you will see that street as seeing itself. The debater's subtlety, once it has the nature of a pillar, becomes radiance. And there is a Nada that stood performing in the doorway of modesty. Maleness is replaced by a door.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar once again challenges those who boast of their virile manhood and physical dominance (ஆண்மை கூறும் மாந்தரே), urging them to direct their energy toward true spiritual valor. Instead of flexing worldly ego, can they perceive the dazzling inner avenue along which the mystic sun courses (the solar breath)? Can they perform the heroic work of severing the dross of lust, anger, and spiritual impurity (கசடறுக்க வல்லீரே)? When the central spinal pillar (தூண் / Sushumna) is awakened through Vasi yoga, internal conflict transforms into effulgent spiritual radiance. Passing through the threshold of humble restraint and devotion (நாண்மையான வாயில்), the seeker witnesses the primordial sound-current (நாதம்) performing its ecstatic, liberating dance within.

Verse 344

  1. 1Naadhamaana vaayilil nadiththuninra saayalil
  2. 2Veedhamaana viidhiyil virindhamus sudarilee
  3. 3Kiidhamaana kiiyilee kilarndhuninra kuuvilee
  4. 4Puudhamaana vaayilaip pugalarivan aadhiyee.

The performing continues, now in a doorway that is Nada, and in a guise that stood there acting. On the street that is Veda, three flames have spread. In the cry that is song, a call stands bright. The Beginning, the verse says, is the one who knows how to speak the doorway that has become the element. Speech, at last, belongs to the one who can name that door.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar describes the living temple of sound, breath, and elemental mastery. The Divine dances not on an external stone altar, but at the threshold of inner Nada (நாதமான வாயில்). Along the internal avenue of authentic revelation (the living Veda), the three mystic flames of sun, moon, and fire expand into radiant illumination. Anchored in the musical vibration of the breath—the rhythmic alternation of 'Ki' and 'Ku'—the yogi masters the elemental gateways of the physical body (பூதமான வாயில்). The seeker who understands the subtle openings of this bodily sanctuary and communes with its indwelling presence is not merely a worshipper; they become intimately united with the beginningless Source (ஆதி) itself.

Verse 345

One rhyme is struck four times in every line, and the meaning drops as the sound goes on. Life, life, life, life: the life of the five horns. Pervading, four times: humankind on the earth. Tank, four times: the people the line calls vandar do not know. Sinner, four times: O humans who have landed on this step. Breath is walked down, by rhyme, into blame.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar laments the tragic blindness of humanity toward the sacred breath of life (ஆவி). The divine life-force branches out through the five senses and the five bodily elements (ஐந்துகொம்பு), constantly sustaining human life upon this earth. Yet worldly mortals take this miraculous presence for granted. Like stagnant, muddy water trapped in a ditch (வாவி), spiritually dull and hypocritical people (வண்டர்கள்) wallow in base desires without ever recognizing the divine nature of the breath animating their chests. Sivavakkiyar calls out to these unfortunate mortals, mourning how they squander their precious human birth in sinful delusion, oblivious to the sacred current of prana that could lead them to immortality.

Verse 346

Light sprouts in a seed and stands at the center of a bow-shaped arc. In release, that light becomes what shines, and it is called the lamp of silence. People do not know the Nada that is like a mass packed in a shell. The last image returns to the wick: a subtlety like a tail, lying there and tossing. Seed, arc, lamp, shell, and wick are one unrecognized brightness.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar unveils the luminous jewel of the Ajna chakra and the subtle nature of the Divine. Sprouting from the primordial seed of consciousness, the divine light blazes at the center of the arched bow between the eyebrows (வில்வளையின் மத்தியில்). There, it shines with the serene, immaculate luster of a pearl—the unmoving lamp of mystical silence (மோனமான தீபம்). Just as an ignorant person sees only the coarse outer shell of a sea conch, blind to the precious pearl forming densely within (நத்திலே திரட்சி), worldly mortals fail to recognize the Supreme Lord dwelling in their own organism. Tossing and turning in the mire of transient attachments, they remain completely blind to the subtle, youthful power of Kundalini (வாலை) waiting to awaken them.

Verse 347

Silence is a liquid at evening and at morning. It strains off and then surges. The verse addresses people who have known the way that, with evening, becomes morning, and it tells them not to crook the root. A red flame has sprouted. The last line is compressed. With the tālai of the print, the drink withdrawn, a silence stayed. Dawn, dusk, and a flame are one unbent quiet.

The teaching

Sivavakkiyar reveals the esoteric significance of the twilight junctures (Sandhya—dusk and dawn) in Siddha Vasi yoga. These temporal thresholds are not meant for external water oblations, but represent the vital transition when the breath balances between the solar and lunar nadis. At this juncture, the divine silence (மோனம்) distills and surges through the system. Addressing those who understand this inner transition, he warns against distorting or abusing the primal energetic foundation (the root triangular yantra at the Muladhara). When the root energy is maintained in pristine purity, the crimson flame of Kundalini (செஞ்சுடர்) sprouts and ascends unhindered. Renouncing all base worldly intoxications, the seeker is immersed in that steadfast, eternal Silence that outlasts day and night.
