Looking with knowledge is located inside you, and so is meditation on Ayan. The truth is named as holding the One's feet without being born. Death is praised by those who, once they know, are not set going back. The last command is spatial. Draw close, open the upper doorway, and look within yourself. Birth is the condition to be out of. The upper gate is the place to open. Meditation is not sent elsewhere. The verse insists it was inside all along.
The teaching
Sivavakkiyar teaches that true contemplation is entirely internal: the meditation on the Creator Brahma (அயன் தியானம்) must be recognized as taking place within one's own consciousness. The ultimate goal is to abide permanently at the feet of the One, escaping the cycle of involuntary rebirth in mortal wombs. Realized Siddhas praise the mystical "death of death" (மரணம் ஏத்தினார்)—the conscious transcendence of mortal limitation through yogic mastery. Sivavakkiyar issues an urgent command: gather your scattered awareness, unlock the supreme upper doorway (மேலை வாசல் / the crown door of Brahma / Brahmarandhra), and gaze within yourself upon the boundless, uncreated Light of the Self.
