Is there a letter that can be shut inside the count of fifty-one? The mantra spread through the sky and the four Vedas are asked as one thing. What sprouted did so inside the root five letters, themselves spread through the sky. Where it sat is the seat of body and linga, and the thing seated is Sivaya. The many letters and the four books come back to five, and the five are already a seat.
The teaching
An esoteric synthesis of linguistics, Veda, and Kundalini iconography. The Sanskrit and Tamil alphabets comprise fifty-one sacred letters (the matrikas), yet Sivavakkiyar asks whether the ultimate Truth can be trapped within linguistic structures. The four Vedas and the cosmic mantra spanning the sky are all contained within and sprout from the primordial Five Letters (மூல அஞ்செழுத்து / Sivayanama). In Siddha anatomy, the physical body (அங்கம்) itself is the consecrated pedestal (பீடம்), and the rising column of consciousness within the Sushumna is the true Lingam. What sits enthroned upon this living, internal altar is not a carved stone, but the supreme vibration: Sivaya.
