Channel, water, letter, and death run together until the grammar loosens. The first channel is sought at a run, in the water of morning and of evening. Another channel is the root of light, and past it lies a pure open where speech has ended. A teaching that begins with the letter a stands beside the plucking of grain. Difference then multiplies, and the body that was born is dead. The printed lines are compressed, joining breath-channel, first letter, and the end of the flesh.
The teaching
A sharp contrast between barren ritualistic ablutions and genuine internal breath mastery (Vasi yoga). Blinded by orthodoxy, people scurry morning and evening to submerge themselves in external sacred rivers (காலைமாலை நீரிலே), imagining that cold water washes away spiritual impurity. Yet they remain oblivious to the primordial subtle channel (ஆதி நாடி / the central Sushumna), which alone leads to the luminous root of awareness and opens into the unconditioned, pristine Void beyond speech (சொல்லிறந்த தூவெளி). Instead of harvesting the immortal spiritual essence originating from the primal seed-syllable 'A' (அகாரம்)—the true mystical source of all Agamas—humanity fragments reality into endless sectarian dogmas, caste distinctions, and metaphysical dualisms (பேத பேதம்). Trapped in this artificial maze of differences, they endlessly circle through the sorrowful wheel of birth, bodily decay, and death.
