Becoming and perishing, going and entering, gods and the directions: each is placed inside the Supreme, and the placing is repeated until it settles. The close brings the speaker in with everyone else. All people are within that Supreme, and the one who says I is within it too. No temple and no journey are asked for. The verse is a set of locations, and every location fails to find an outside. Even the speaker's own person is included in the last interior. The repetition is the teaching.
The teaching
One of the most powerful non-dual credos in the entire corpus of Sivavakkiyam. Creation and dissolution, departure and entrance, the celestial deities and the infinite cosmic directions—all arise, abide, and dissolve exclusively within the boundless expanse of the Supreme Reality (பரம்). Sivavakkiyar rejects all dualistic separation between humanity and God: every living being dwells within that infinite Divine ground, and the poet's own individual 'I' (யான்) is eternally situated within that very same Supreme. When the boundary between inner consciousness and the outer cosmos collapses, the seeker realizes that there is no outside to Divinity; all existence is an indivisible, seamless unity.
